Coding for Social Impact Labs is an opportunity to build close collaborations between social innovators, from anywhere on Earth, and students of the Software Development Laboratory course unit (LDSO/MIEIC).
These projects had the concrete goals of envisioning, designing, and building simple software systems that can leverage ideas with high social impact.
The following projects were developed in a very agile way by a team of 5-6 students, working 8-10h a week within a timeframe of 12 weeks.
This all occurred with the supervision of a MIEIC/LDSO teacher and culminated in a public event – a grand finale.
In the end, the teams delivered concrete systems at least with the maturity of a fully functional prototype, or more, depending on the project’s scope and technical specificities.
